This is the story of a stallion named Dj.

Dj was a young stallion and lived in a very nice town. He  was also a pony who lived a very normal life. He would wake up, go to work, punch in, punch out, and then walk back home to eat dinner and go to bed. Dj repeated the cycle again and again and again, never growing bored of the same routine he cycled through every day.

Dj was 19 years old and had a dark blue coat. His mane and tail both were a chestnut brown and eyes as yellow as sunflowers. He was overall a very nice pony. He was usually very easy to get along with and great at listening to others. With the job he currently has, he was proud to be with the ponies he worked with and seeing visitors that check out the available offices.

Dj’s job was a very simple one. He would enter his office and simply pushed buttons. His office desk had rows and columns of all sorts of buttons, each one different from each other. Buttons that had different colors, numbers and letters, shaped buttons, colored buttons with numbers. Every combination that Dj could possibly think of were right there sitting on his desk, waiting to be pressed again and again.

Orders came in through a monitor in his office, giving him instructions on which buttons to press, in what order he had to press them in, and for how long he had to press those buttons. Dj did this every day of every week of every month for the last three years. And even though many ponies will find this kind of job boring and soul tearing, Dj cherished each and every one of the orders he was given. He felt that each order made him discover new things. New shapes with newer colors and almost anything that could be thought of. Dj loved his job, as if it was exactly what he had been destined to do. And Dj was very happy.

But then one day something strange happened to Dj. Something that he wasn't going to forget. A something that would truly change the way he sees the world forever.

Dj had walked into work and entered his room, sitting himself before his desk of buttons. He sat for over two hours before he realized that he had been staring at a blank monitor. For the last two hours he had been given not one single order for him to fulfill. Nopony told him orders to follow, or call for a lunch break, or even stop at his office to say 'Hello.'

Never in the three years of working in the building has Dj ever encountered this, this loneliness. Disturbed, worried, Dj couldn't manage to move for the longest time. Eventually gaining his senses back, Dj stood up from his desk of buttons and walked out of his office.

Dj walked about to see that all of his fellow friendly coworkers were completely gone. Dj was the only one here. How could this be? Where was everypony? Dj looked up and down in every hall and office, hoping to find anyone that may be in the building, but to no avail.

Dj was all by himself in the offices. Knowing this, he finally decided to further investigate the building. He walked passed the empty offices and made his way to the Cafeteria. Perhaps his friends were just on their break.

Dj was a very quiet pony, having been trained to stay silent as he did his job of pushing buttons. He never really was well at functioning on his own and felt he needed the guidance from other ponies to feel normal and sane.

Walking along the hallways, Dj eventually found his way to two open doors, each one sitting beside one another. When he saw the two open doors, he entered the door on his right…

This is a preview of something I've been having in my head for a while. Ever since I learned about a game famously known as 'The Stanley Parable,' I felt motivated to make my own pony version. I hope you guys like this preview and I certainly hope that you will be kind as to offer your opinions and encouraging words to continue this project I have.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
